St Kitts and Nevis: Children’s Medical Fund assists 9-year-old Haziek with medical treatment in Trinidad
Prime Minister Terrance Drew shared the glimpses of his visit to the child and ensured to support the expenses of the treatment of the young individual through the Children’s Medical Fund.

The 9-year-old Haziek, a resident of St Kitts and Nevis who is suspected to have been attacked by a shark attack or marine life last month is in Trinidad for his further surgery on his arm. The expenditure of his treatment has been made possible by the significant initiative undertaken by Prime Minister, Dr. Terrance Drew back in 2022 i.e., Children’s Medical Fund.
Recently, the Prime Minister Terrance Drew shared the glimpses of his visit to the child and ensured to support the expenses of the treatment of the young individual through the Children’s Medical Fund.
While shedding light on Haziek, Prime Minister Drew stated that they are ready to benefit another child from the Children’s Medical Fund. This child received his initial treatment at the JNF General Hospital and has now travelled overseas for his further medical care.
Moreover, the Prime Minister extended gratitude to the Pediatric Assistance League of St. Kitts and Nevis (PALS) for their collaboration with the Children’s Medical Fund. He acknowledged the unwavering commitment and dedication of the assistance towards helping the sick children of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
The Prime Minister stated that with this great initiative like the Children’s Medical Fund, they are making every possible effort for this young boy to have a chance at a healthy and nourishing life.
The Pediatric Assistance League of St Kitts and Nevis also expressed delight on working together with the Children’s Medical Fund. They reiterated their commitment to ensure Haziek gets the proper medical assistance that he requires. Also, the assistance lauded Haziek and described him as a charming little boy who has been so brave throughout his treatment.
The Prime Minister Terrance Drew stated that they are committed and will continue to provide financial help and support to the children, seeking medical care and attention. He prioritized the physical and mental well-being of the children and ensured to provide all the citizens with the best possible healthcare facilities and amenities.
Following this great gesture by Prime Minister Terrance Drew, the netizens of the country took to their social media accounts and appreciated the leader for setting a great example in the eyes of the citizens.
They added that the Prime Minister’s services for the development of the community demonstrate his exceptional care and leadership for the betterment of the nation.
Children’s Medical Fund
The Children’s Assistance Fund was commenced during a press conference in October 2022. Children’s Medical Fund is one of the greatest initiatives undertaken by the Government in order to ensure healthy life among the citizens of St Kitts and Nevis. The concept of the medical fund was raised by PM Drew with a vision to provide medical assistance to all those needy children who are in requirement of getting treated abroad.
