SKNOC registers historic election, Jennifer Nero became first female Vice President

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Olympic Committee of St. Kitts and Nevis announced Jennifer Nero as the new Vice President. Her selection marks the huge milestone for the sports department of the island nation as she becomes the first ever female to be elected for such prestigious position.

She has been serving her duties as a member of the SKNOC since 2014. It is her testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication towards development of sports sector that she will now be taking up the new role of Vice President. Nero currently serves as the Women in Sports Commission Chairperson and became the only nominee to be elected for this position of St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee’s Vice President.

Notably, the election supervisor, Francil Morris made the official announcement of Jennifer Nero’s selection as the Vice President of the Olympic Committee. Following her election, Nero extended gratitude to the members federations for showcasing confidence in her abilities.

Nero asserted that she is committed to upholding the Olympic motto of higher, faster, stronger and together. She further added that she will continue to make efforts to elevate the sports department to greater heights.

Her election is not only a memorable moment for her but for the entire Olympic committee of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis as well. As it shed light on the commitment of the organization towards promoting gender equality and empowering women in sports leadership.

As Nero has stepped into the new role of Vice President so the election for her previous position of Women in Sports Commission Chairperson will take place on 22nd July 2024. The St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Federation has stated that they are looking forward to elect that person who can fit in the best for that position and continues to make efforts to develop sports department.

Also, St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee extended congratulations to Jennifer Nero for her continued contributions to the development and success of sports in St. Kitts and Nevis. Along with that, they also announced the new President whose charge will be take on by Dennid Freddie Knight.
