Saint Lucia Women’s team wins Windward Championship, PM Pierre congratulates
Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Philip J Pierre extended congratulations to the Saint Lucia Women’s team for dominating and emerging victorious at the Windward Island Women’s Championship.

Saint Lucia: Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Philip J Pierre extended congratulations to the Saint Lucia Women’s team for dominating and emerging victorious at the Windward Island Women’s Championship.
It is to be noted that Saint Lucia defeated Grenada on Saturday, 17th February 2024 at La Sagesse in the final game of the tournament.
While extending congratulations, Philip J Pierre took to his Facebook account and shared the picture of the entire team with the caption “Congratulations Team Saint Lucia on your victory at the Windward Islands Women’s T20 Tournament. You are now the Champions of not just T20 but also the Super 50 Cricket Tournament won earlier this month. As we countdown to our 45th Anniversary of Independence, you have added to our celebrations, and we are proud of you! Congratulations once again.”
Notably, Saint Lucia will commemorate its 45th anniversary of Independence on 22nd February 2024 and this win of the women’s team has double the happiness and celebration for every citizen of Saint Lucia.
Minister of Youth of Saint Lucia, Kenson Casimir also congratulated the team for winning the tournament “Congratulations to team Saint Lucia. Champions of Windward Islands T20 Senior Female Cricket Tournament. Our ladies went tour the entire tournament undefeated!”
Moreover, Saint Lucia women played four games in the entire tournament, three in the 50-over matches and 1 in the T20 Matches. The team remained unbeatable in the entire tournament and won all their matches.
It was truly a game of excellence for the Saint Lucia women as they displayed unwavering commitment, dedication, character and perseverance which no other team competing in the tournament could match up with.
The players exhibited their talents, abilities, skills and techniques in the tournament which also played a huge role in leading them to victory.
Along with that, the support from the administration of Saint Lucia to the women cricketers is also a source of motivation and inspiration for how they help the women of their country to participate in sports and pursue their dreams with confidence.
Various residents of the community also took to their social media accounts and extended congratulations to the team for their wonderful game in the entire tournament.
One person with a Facebook account Norman Edward commented “WOW, you’ve represented Lucia with pride. Congratulations to players, coaches and management.”
“So proud of you all. These women took care of their business,” wrote Margaret Rambally.
Another person with a Facebook account Jackey Ingles commented the following “Congratulations Team!!! Congratulations. To the skipper!!!! Zaida James. I am super proud of you!!!.”
