Saint Lucia welcomes inaugural visit of Silver Dawn at Pointe Seraphine

The Ministry of Tourism Saint Lucia, on Thursday, January 26, 2023, welcomed the inaugural visit of ‘Silver Dawn’, the tenth and ultra-luxury addition to the Silver Seas cruise line. It arrived at the ports of Pointe Seraphine, Castries.

Saint Lucia welcomes inaugural visit of Silver Dawn at Pointe Seraphine

The Ministry of Tourism Saint Lucia, on Thursday, January 26, 2023, welcomed the inaugural visit of ‘Silver Dawn’, the tenth and ultra-luxury addition to the Silver Seas cruise line. It arrived at the ports of Pointe Seraphine, Castries.

The Ministry said, “Though small, hosting nearly 596 passengers, the recently christened ship exudes elegance and modernity in both design and amenities.” The Captain of the ship Luigi Rutigliano was welcomed with a plaque exchange ceremony.

Furthermore, the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority joined industry partners during a welcome ceremony for the Captain, crew, and passengers of Silversea Cruises, Silver Dawn, on its maiden visit to Saint Lucia. A warm welcome was made to Silver Dawn to the shores of Fair Helen of the West, Saint Lucia.

During the plaque exchange ceremony, the representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Invest Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority, Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, and Cox & Company Ltd were present.

The elegant and modern, Silver Dawn is the tenth ultra-luxury ship to join the Silver Seas fleet (Muse class). She was built in November of 2021 and sailed her maiden voyage in April 2022.

On Thursday, January 26, 2023, Silver Dawn cruised into Port Castries for her inaugural call on Saint Lucia with Captain Luigi Rutigliano as master, 404 crew members and 550 passengers.

On hand to welcome the luxury vessel were Samantha Charles (Ministry of Tourism), Amanie Mathurin (Invest Saint Lucia), Geena McPhee (Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority), Christopher Gustave (Saint Lucia Tourism Authority) and Herman Joseph (Cox & Company).

Saint Lucia is witnessing a thriving cruise season this year, and several major cruises have made their inaugural calls during this season. Earlier this month, Arvia made her inaugural call to Port Castries today. It was the first excel class ship to visit Saint Lucia.

The Tourism Authority of Saint Lucia was pleased to welcome P&O Cruises’ newest vessel, The Arvia, on her maiden call from the Mediterranean to the destination today, Wednesday, January 18.
