Castries, Saint Lucia: HelpAWS, an animal welfare organisation of Saint Lucia, has felt delighted while announcing that their little puppies have now reached their forever and foster homes in Canada.

As per the latest update by the organisation, after a long journey that started on Thursday in St Lucia and then to the airport, a stop in Miami and then Chicago and finally to Canada, 12 babies of the organisation have made it safely to their forever and foster homes! “We know the journey was long and no doubt exhausting and beyond scary for these little pups, but we’re so happy they are finally able to meet their humans and continue their journey to living their best lives,” the organisation expressed.

“Knowing these babies no longer have to wonder where their next meal comes from or feel the pain of being alone and scared is the best and most satisfying feeling. These babies came from such hard beginnings and came through our doors unsure of what was to come, but luckily, we were able to give them a safe place and the care needed before they began the first chapter in their new life,” the dog shelter mentioned.

HelpAWS continued that most times, there’s so much that goes on behind the scenes, which causes us to lose hope and feel defeated. So many questions on how we will continue to keep organisations’ doors open with the growing number of animals we take in on a daily basis or if the volunteers will ever find loving homes for those babies in the care to make space for the next. But on days like today, when the organisation see the long journeys that these babies embark on and their anxious families awaiting their arrival, it feels content and forgets all about what’s wrong or what could’ve been better. It gives so much enjoyment to see the smiling faces and the animals being embraced by their new families.

“We wouldn’t have been able to get these babies home if it wasn’t for our amazing supporters, donations and, most importantly, families that we know are going to give them the best life they deserve, so thank you! And to our 12 babies, we miss you already, but we’re so excited to watch you grow and thrive, and we know that now that you are with your forever families, we can make room for more babies who come through our doors and need our care just like you did!” it mentioned.
