Qualified GAEs to receive pension tomorrow, St Kitts and Nevis to host special event
The retired and qualified Government Auxiliary Employees (GAEs) are all set to receive their deserving pension tomorrow. The payment of the pension will be provided through a special event hosted by the Government of St Kitts and Nevis.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The retired and qualified Government Auxiliary Employees (GAEs) are all set to receive their deserving pension tomorrow. The payment of the pension will be provided through a special event hosted by the Government of St Kitts and Nevis.
The payment of the pension is a step towards fulfilling the commitment made by the Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew towards bringing significant and immediate financial relief to hundreds of people. As per the requirements, the pension will be provided to the former Government Auxiliary Employee who has worked for at least 15 years and retired after May 2012.
The Government also shared the details of the pension payment and stated that the employee who is already 62 will immediately be receiving monthly payments with back payment started from January 2024.
Meanwhile, the employees who are under the age of 62 will have to wait till they turn the required age so that they can also receive monthly pension payments. As per the conditions, it is the essential requirement for the Government Auxiliary Employee to be at least 62 years old with a contribution of 15 years of service in order to qualify for the pension payments.
Along with that, the authorities also mentioned that if the employee dies before age 62 then their one year’s pension will go to their beneficiary. The employees can receive the pension query forms from the Government Headquarters and Accountant General Department.
Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew also criticized the former government on getting brutally failed for rewarding the GAE workers for their exceptional services towards the betterment of the country. The Prime Minister stated that, he will rectify the former government’s mistake and will provide the employees with the pension which they truly deserve.
The leader of the nation continued to say that, these GAE workers are the people who are the crossing guards, environmental workers, the messengers, drivers, technicians and many more who has always served the nation as their foremost priority. Therefore, the Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew expressed pride in knowing that his administration is able to facilitate them for their contribution towards the nation over the years.
