Guyana: President Irfaan Ali has called the grand opening of the NTS Amega Atlantic Guyana “a strategic piece of the right mix for development.”
“President Dr Irfaan Ali, this evening, lauded the grand opening of NTS Amega Atlantic Guyana at Houston, East Bank Demerara and called it a strategic piece of the right mix for development,” stated the Prime Minister.
NTS Amega Atlantic Guyana is a joint venture between the globally renowned manufacturing and repairing company—NTS Group and local company Atlantic Marine Supplies Inc, according to the government of Guyana.
The Guyana authorities have further stated that this joint venture would indeed provide manufacturing and repair services for the gas and oil sector. Expectedly, this establishment will provide around two dozen of jobs.
The NTS Group has locations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, Canada, Singapore, and Norway.
The opening ceremony of the NTS was attended by the Minister of Housing and Water Collin Croal and Guyana Office for Investment (GO-INVEST) Dr Peter Ramsaroop.
Currently, the Prime Minister visited to the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown. During his visit to the International Energy Conference and Expo Guyana 2022, the PM was invited to put the finishing touches to the mural by the local artist Carol Fraser.
The piece has been titled as the “From a humble beginning to a thriving presence”.
Ms Fraser said, “Since the artwork was going to an Art Connects exhibition in Dubai, it was momentous to have the President make the final brush stroke.”
The Art Connects, an international annual Art Exhibition, honours the female artists who create extraordinary works of art in their communities. The exhibition would be hosted in Dubai between 8 to 11 March, to mark the International Women’s Day.
