PM Skerrit offers EC$25,000 cheque to South East Football Club

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit offered a cheque of around EC$25,000 to the Manager of the South East Football Club Shield – Ronald Green, on March 18, 2022. The cheque was presented to provide financial aid to the football club to travel to Puerto Rico and participate in the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield.
“On Friday, I presented a cheque for EC$25,000 to Mr Ronald Green, the Manager of the South East Football Club, to fund the team’s travel to Puerto Rico to participate in the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield,” Prime Minister Skerrit outlined.
This tournament will be played between April 15 and April 24, 2022; the top teams will participate from the territories.
PM Skerrit further lauded the South East team, which has bagged the championship of Dominica Football Association Premier League, back to back in years 2019 and 2020.
He further noted, “The Government of Dominica is pleased to support the team’s bid to lift the Caribbean Club Championship.”
He further wished for the success of the team in the upcoming tournament. Dominican Prime Minister stated, “I congratulate the members of the South East Football Club and wish them success in the upcoming tournament.”
The fourth edition of CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield (CCCS) 2022, this year, will be organised in the month of April (15 to 24). The football event will be hosted by Estadio Centroamericano de Mayagüez and Estadio Juan Ramón Loubriel.
According to the schedule shared by CONCACAF, the game would be played in “four” groups. These are as follow –
Group A: Bayamon FC (Puerto Rico), Flames United SC (Sint Maarten), Southeast FC (Dominica), Junior Stars FC (St Martin)
Group B: SV Real Rincon (Bonaire), SWA Sharks FC (Turks and Caicos Islands), CRKSV Jong Holland (Curaçao)
Group C: Deportivo Nacional (Aruba), Golden Lion (Martinique), Inter Moengo Tapoe (Suriname)
Group D: Scholars International SC (Cayman Islands), AS Gosier (Guadeloupe), Platinum FC (St Lucia)
