PM Skerrit attends 33rd Inter-Sessional Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit shared the glimpse of the 33rd Inter-Sessional Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government, being held at San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize.

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit shared the glimpse of the 33rd Inter-Sessional Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government, being held at San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize.
While sharing the prime minister mentioned, “The 33rd Inter-Sessional Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government is underway in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize.”
Prime Minister Skerrit was joined by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Business and Diaspora Relations Dr Kenneth Darroux.
The PM further mentioned that the delegation, from Dominica, will focus on the impact of the global pandemic and would share and gather recommendation to expedite recovery of the economy.
PM Skerrit added that the he and Minister of Foreign Affairs would also have a discussion on advancing the CARICOM Single Market and Economy to help build a more resilient Community; and advancing the CARICOM Agri-Food Systems Agency, with emphasis on regional food and nutrition security.
“Discussions will focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the region and recommendations to expedite recovery of regional economies; advancing the CARICOM Single Market and Economy to help build a more resilient Community; and advancing the CARICOM Agri-Food Systems Agency, with emphasis on regional food and nutrition security,” Prime Minister added.
Various Caribbean leaders have arrived at Belize to attend the 33rd Inter-Sessional Meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government. The main objective behind this year’s meet would be ‘how to boost the economies after the impact of COVID-19 on the regions.’
During the first day of the meet, the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community – CARICOM Dr Carla Barnett, highlighted that the last two years were crucial and it was difficult for CARICOM community.
Dr Barnett stated that to move forward from the devastation caused due to pandemic Governments should trust the expertise of regional institutions and programs such as Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Implementation Agency for Crime and Security, so that a better future can be built and the regions can be socially and economically recovered.
