‘Nothing Like A Nevisian Holiday’ to return with fourth edition

The Nevis Tourism Authority presents the fourth edition of ‘Nothing Like A Nevisian Holiday’ to embrace the holiday spirit while showcasing the amazing talents which reside on the island.

This family affair celebration will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Nevis Heritage Village and gates open from 2:00 pm to 7 pm. Eric Evelyn, Minister of Culture, served as a host for the event. 

The festive season brings good cheer and warmth to family and friends as well as residents at home and abroad during the spirit of the Nevisian holiday.

The event will display the intensity of the islands’ vibrant culture and delectable cuisine, where every individual indulges in the celebration of this vacation season.

Activities- Nevisian Holiday Festive

Various exciting activities and grand celebration will take which moonlights every bit of festivities and features,

– Exhilarating performances by the Ceolis Choir and David Dynasty Masquerade

– The Honey Bee String Band

– Melodious steelpan by NCD Steel Orchestra

– Rhythms Dance Theatre

– Performance by reigning Culturama Groovy King 2023, Delly Ranks, as well as Speedy

Additionally, individuals will enjoy pitching (marble) and embrace a friendly game of cricket, which depicts the tradition of the island. 

It is to be noted that the event will host a variety of traditional dishes by the local chefs, along with a bread-making demonstration. 

Souvenirs are able to purchase soaps, artwork and much more to make the perfect holiday gifts. Nevisian Tourism Authority and Ministry of Culture invite all the natives to mark their presence in this most awaited celebration. 

The event will also be streamed live on Nevis Naturally social media, Facebook, and YouTube between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The NTA extended his gratefulness to all the performers and partners who are supporting the festivities to bring what promises to be a truly memorable event.

Nevis Heritage Village

The Nevis Heritage Village is located at Fothergills Estate, which was once a bustling sugar plantation and cotton ginning station on the eastern side of the island. 

The village is surrounded by the lush evergreen vegetarian on the lower slopes of the dominating Nevis Peak, a dormant volcano that makes a perfect backdrop. 

Notably, this Heritage Village largely depicts the extension of Nevisian social history through housing. The houses are furnished with antiques and relics of their specific periods. 

It is to be noted that the dwelling houses and gardens include the blacksmith’s shop, the shoe-makers shop and rum shop.
