MV Celebrity Summit launches cruise season, brings over 2K passengers in Dominica

Dominica officially marks the commencement of its Cruise Season 2024/2025 with the arrival of MV Celebrity Summit, bringing around 2158 passengers to the shores of the country. The season opened on Wednesday, 9th October, 2024 at Roseau Cruise Ship Berth.
The official opening of the cruise season was followed by a plaque exchange ceremony between the Discover Dominica Authority and Crew Members which took place on board the ship.
While extending a welcome to all the cruise passengers, the Dominica Ministry of Tourism ensured to offer an unforgettable experience to all the passengers. From lush rainforests to waterfalls and warm island vibes, the authorities aim to make an experience of all the passengers like no other.
“To all our Cruise Passengers, welcome to the Nature Island of the Caribbean,” noted the Dominica Ministry of Tourism.
With the official opening of the Cruise Season in Dominica, the authorities are looking forward to welcoming a large number of passengers to the country. They asserted that they are ready to greet visitors with breathtaking landscapes, warm hospitality, and unforgettable experiences.
The cruise season has always played an immense role in benefitting not only the tourism sector but also the economic conditions of the country. It is a great platform for all the local artists to showcase their talent, skills, abilities and techniques, winning the hearts of all the visitors from all over the world through their art.
Not only this, the cruise season also opens doors to several opportunities for the local businesses, giving them a platform to showcase and sell their locally produced goods and services, generating a huge amount of revenues for the nation.
Moreover, during the offseason, the Ministry of Tourism has worked extensively to upgrade tourism sites and conduct training in preparation for the 2024/25 season.
As per the details, the Ministry of Tourism of Dominica in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works have upgraded Bayfront Road with new pavements and curbs, costing $2.7 million.
They have also invested over $600,000 in enhancing key sites through power washing, resurfacing, and vegetation management at locations like Kalinago Barana Aute, Trafalgar Falls, Emerald Pool, and Titou Gorge. While shedding light on these upgrades, the authorities have visioned to offer a comfortable and memorable experience for all the cruise visitors.
As per the details, the authorities are aiming to welcome over 300,000 cruise passengers in Dominica for the 2024-25 cruise season, ensuring a top-tier experience for all the visitors.
