Minna LaFortune submits her Christmas album and single for Grammy

The well-known reggae artiste from Jamaica, Minna LaFortune, is expected to win the award at the upcoming 67th Grammy. The artiste submitted her last year’s creations on Christmas, called ‘Caribbean Christmas,’ an album, and a single called ‘Christmas is the Reason.’

After the release of the new album by Minna LaFortune on 28 November 2023, the songs made a buzz among music lovers rapidly during the festive season. The music album was appreciated by everyone and got impressive reviews.

The album, named Caribbean Christmas, contained nine songs, with a total duration of around 32 minutes. The Christmas is the Reason single was also part of this album and was the most loved song of the from the list.

Minna LaFortune, who is a current resident of Brooklyn, talked about her album and the songs. She mentioned that the track named ‘It’s a Caribbean Christmas’ was composed with the intention to raise the spirit of celebration in the festive times and holidays.

The Kingston-born LaFortune said, “Caribbean Christmas is a delightful journey into the heart of the festive season, expertly blending reggae, soca, calypso, ska, and waltz to create a harmonious celebration of the holidays.”

She also said, “The rhythms infused in this track and throughout the album inspire not just festive decor but a genuine sense of merriment. The songs came straight from my heart, as if they were being stored, waiting for their release to inspire and rejuvenate the world at Christmas.”

Minna LaFortune also talked about the success of her album and the single other than great reviews and public acceptance. The Christmas is the Reason is vying for Best Global Music Performance, and on the other hand, the Caribbean Christmas album made its way to the Best Reggae Album category.

The album with the Christmas tracks of LaFortune was produced by Lee Holness. The album was distributed in the market under the banner name of ‘The Art of Music Online Media Studio,’ which is also equally responsible for the success of the work done by Jamaican artiste.

The most famous track from the album, Christmas is the Reason, also got a dedicated animated video. The video was released on the official YouTube Channel owned by Minna LaFortune, which also observed an equally good response from the audience.

Minna LaFortune also diclosed her intentions with the composing style of the Caribbean Christmas album and its track. She said that her vision was to dedicate her artistic versatility and dedication to maintain and highlight the cultural richness of the region.
