The Great Stand Up to Cancer Bake Off is a UK-based event, also known as The Great Celebrity Bake Off For the Stand Up to Cancer. It is hosted every year, but this time, in 2024, a participant showcased a special flavour connected with Nevis’ culture.
Mel B baked Caribbean-inspired buns, and she mentioned the reason for this: Her Dad is from Nevis, the smallest island in the Caribbean.
The name given to the dish is “Mel’s Rum and Raisin Iced Buns” which connects her to the rich history of Nevis. “ I got some local rum and raisins that I’ve soaked in the rum. Because, I want it to have flavor,” mentioned Mel B.
The delicious flavor of blended rum and raisins is remarkable. The presence of Nevis’ rum at the incredible event marks the remarkable significance of the small, beautiful island of Nevis. The dish is even appreciated a lot by the people of the country.
Where Mark Brantley, Premier of the country also highlighted it as “This is Wonderful.” Not only this, one of the netizens named, Connie Cole showed immense love to the buns.
She quoted, “Awesome, Between her and Heather’s rave reviews, Nevis will hit the big league.”
