Martinique aids St Lucia in battle of COVID-19

Martinique, St Lucia: Martinique is aiding St Lucia in its battle against deadly coronavirus.

Martinique gave the donation of medical types of equipment and the arrival in St Lucia of a group of medical practitioners.

The Medical Director of the OKEU Hospital & Victoria Hospital, Dr. Alisha Eugene-Ford, has greeted the assistance.

“From last week, St Lucians received one of their physicians, Dr. Hussein Medawis,” she revealed.

“He came across the previous week to assist us with the management of lethal coronavirus cases,” Eugene-Ford announced the Communications Unit of the Ministry of Health.

Furthermore, she added, another physician from Martinique, Dr. Dabor Resiere, has steadily been serving here. But he returned with a group and medical supplies to help this country care for coronavirus-positive patients.

Resiere declared the University Hospital of Martinique is satisfied to be able to assist the citizens of St Lucia in a time of requirement.

“He is looking forward during my week here to extending medical education and training to professionals of St Lucia and welcome them to come to our University Hospital,” he added.

According to the Ministry of Health here, medical experts from the Owen King EU Hospital will receive additional practice on managing deadly coronavirus from the Martinique medical team over the coming weeks.

Talking to reporters, a resident said, “Thank you, Martinique, for assisting us here in St Lucia. We are grateful.”

As we all know that St Lucia is in a national crisis, St Lucia registered more than 2,519 active coronavirus cases, 1,778 recoveries, and 23 deaths compared to its people.

Moreover, vaccination has been started, yet there are no changes in the shocking numbers of coronavirus cases.

A resident, Angela William, commented, “Welcome to the doctor’s from Martinique.”

On the other hand, a resident stated, “After they close the broader to you’ll our neighbors but big up thank for the love regardless how PM Allen Chastanet treated you.”
