Bridgetown, Barbados: A 20-year-old man in Melrose has been arrested and charged with the murder of his relative. The accused appeared in the District ‘D’ Magistrate’s court on Wednesday, where the charges were read out to him.
As per reports, the suspect was identified as Talannie Alexander Harris. He is a resident of Melrose at St Thomas. He was charged with brutally killing his relative, Renario Taylor, a 23-year-old man.
The incident took place on Wednesday, February 28. If sources are to be believed, it has been said that there was a dispute going on between the deceased and Harris, due to which the accused took this step.
When Taylor was attacked by a 20-year-old and received multiple stab wounds on his body, in due course of time, he immediately ran to the nearby Runice Gibson Polyclinic in Warrens at St Michael in order to save himself. However, he succumbed to his injuries later.
The quarrel between the both led to the death of one. The medical staff informed the police about the incident. The Barbados Police Services (TBPS) Criminal Investigation Department of North Division responded to the matter and arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, they examined the body of the deceased and observed several injuries on his body. During their investigation, they arrested and charged Harris for the offence he had committed.
According to the reports, the deceased was recognized as a relative of Harris. The suspect appeared in the court on Wednesday before Magistrate Deborah Beckles.
Such stances of crimes put the nation’s security at risk, and this is not the first time that police have reported such cases. The people are experiencing criminal activities on every alternate day. Each day, several lives are lost in such heinous acts of crime.
The authorities and the Department of Police are committed to working tirelessly to tackle the spike of crimes in their country. The public is also advised to be aware and respond immediately if they witness anything like this around them.
