Bridgetown: The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) monitored a large plume of dust haze passing through the island, which is affecting Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean. Such conditions affect the air quality and likely to pose a threat to the marine areas as well.
The skies may turn to be slightly yellowish during the day, which will reduce the visibility across the land and the marine areas. However, BMS officials said that there is a probability that the visibility will improve slowly by tonight or tomorrow.
Notably, the meteorologists have put the haze and marine areas in the ‘Yellow’ alert.

The BMS shared that the people of Barbados may experience a partly sunny weather with a few brief isolated light showers on the island. As per synopsis, a ridge pattern will remain the dominant feature across the region.
Winds forecast information: The winds are forecasted to remain moderate easterly to east-southeasterly breeze. The speed of the winds is expected to be around 30 km/hour, which is equal to 19 mph.
Marine forecast information: According to BMS, the sea waves will remain smooth to moderate in the open water, with the swells spanning between 1.0 to 1.5 meters (3 to 5 ft). There is a probability that the waves may turn out to be steady.
