Jamaica’s Valiant clinches his first MOBO award in category of Best Caribbean Music Act
Jamaica’s Dancehall artist, Valiant, clinched his first Music of Bank Origin (MOBO) award in the category of Best Caribbean Music Act at the 26th edition of the award show.

Jamaica’s Dancehall artist, Valiant, clinched his first Music of Bank Origin (MOBO) award in the category of Best Caribbean Music Act at the 26th edition of the award show. It is to be noted that the event took place on 7th February 2024 at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena in London.
The other Best Caribbean Music Act nominees who were nominated alongside Valiant are Trinidadian Soca star singer Destra, Kittitian deejay Byron Messia and fellow Jamaicans and Grammy winner Kabaka Pyramid, Popcaan, and Shenseea.
Valiant was announced as the year’s winner on the MOBO Awards Twitter account. They mentioned on their Twitter, “Congratulations to @Valiant_Musiq for winning Best Caribbean Music Act at the 26th #MOBOAwards in association with @Mobolise!”
Subsequently, Valiant also took to his social media account and expressed delight in winning and extended gratitude to all his fans and loved ones for their constant support.
“1 year and God has been really great to me. The journey was not at all easy and Dancehall is not a game, but my faith and strong mind carried me all the way. I just want to extend thank to all my true fans and supporters who believed in me. Big up all the nominees,” mentioned Valiant in his post.
Notably, last year, in the month of January, Valiant was named one of “the 9 musicians set to take over in 2023” in the iconic fashion magazine Vogue.
With his melodic flow and charming personality, he has won and earned a place in the hearts of millions of his fans with his hits, namely, Expensive, Dunce Cheque, Speed Off and North Carolina.
After his TikTok video went viral in 2022, Valiant became the leading breakout Dancehall artist for 2023. It pushed him to become the forefront of the genre as one of the renowned and talented newcomers.
Moreover, at the 25th edition of the MOBO awards, Dancehall artist Skillibeng was awarded the Best Caribbean Music Act.
Various residents of the community also took to their social media accounts and extended congratulations to Valiant.
One person commented, “Congratulations, never look back from you, the hot greatness.”
“He deserves to be awarded much love from Nyasa land,” wrote Teemore Wilz.
