Jamaican Government to transform 700 Jamaicans lives under social housing

In a press release, PM Holness stated that the Government of Jamaica has been transforming lives through social housing 700 Jamaicans that would positively impact.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness said,” the purpose of the social housing programme is to transform lives across Jamaica. It is the goal of this Government to give every single Jamaican the opportunity to experience the feeling of satisfaction, safety and security that comes with owning their own home and being able to pass it on to their children.”

PM Holness highlighted that the programme should be viewed as”transformational housing”, as the Government of Jamaica continues to allow more Jamaicans to own their own homes and to live in dignity.

Construction of 380 housing units would be getting completed this year that could have a positive impact on approx 700 Jamaicans. The project of social housing project would be benefiting many Jamaicans in future by giving them their own piece of land in Jamaica.

PM Holness highlighting that there have been many Jamaicans living in sub-standard conditions, and for that, only the Jamaican Government has been portrayed the further housing solutions for them.

Prime Minister Holness said that the Government has been aware of the circumstance of Jamaicans. They know the situation, and they have been doing their best to get to them and to assist them.

The Prime Minister, while speaking recently at the handing over ceremony of a social housing project in Quarry, Salt Spring in St. James, where he said that the provision of social housing has a positive effect on the Government that would bring about a spirit of hope among citizens and drastic change in the lives of recipients.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the Government had spent much time improving the systems and the methods of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Speaking at the handing over of a social housing unit in Farm Pen, St. Mary, on July 16, PM Holness said he has been cautioning against very quick responses from the Fund, as requests must meet accounting standards.
