Jamaica showcased the record-breaking number in vaccination on August 24
The number of vaccinated persons on Tuesday was the record as it was the highest number of persons who get vaccinated in 1 day

More than 21,000 Jamaicans got vaccinated on August 24 Tuesday. The day that has been designated as the “No Movement Day” by the Government of Jamaica.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness allowed the citizens of Jamaica to leave their homes who want to get vaccinated. They can go to their nearby vaccination centres.
The number of vaccinated persons on Tuesday was the record as it was the highest number of persons who get vaccinated in 1 day. Since the vaccination programme began in March on Tuesday. 40% out of the total population vaccinated on Tuesday were children between 12-18 years age group.
Jamaica received the donation of 208,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. The U.S. Government has donated these doses under the Biden-Harris administration. These doses of vaccine would be used for vaccinating teenagers.
PM Holness said that their GovernmentGovernment would be using Pfizer vaccines to vaccinate children, which would remain their priority.
Dr Christopher Tufton said, “I want to express my deep appreciation to the healthcare team, especially for their efforts today in reaching this record number. Our healthcare workers remain a critical component of our vaccination program, and we must take every opportunity to salute them.”
Dr Tufton said that he wants to use the opportunity to thank members of the public who received the vaccination to protect themselves and help the country to achieve its goal of vaccinating 65% of the population by March 2020. At the same time, they knew that the wait was longer than expected, and they thank the public for their cooperation. The Ministry would be reviewing the situations to implement improvements in the wait experience and competence relating to vaccination delivery.
The Ministry would continue its vaccination program to accomplish its goal of vaccinating 700,000 residents by the end of September.
