St Ann, Jamaica: An armed assailant came up through a window to shoot a businessman to death at his residence in Runaway Bay, St Ann. This incident is reported to take place on Monday, 22nd April 2024.
The suspect has been identified as 36-year-old Dwayne Wilson, alias ‘Bagdad’ or ‘Chris’, resident of Runaway Bay in the parish.
As per the reports shared by the officers, the victim, Wilson was at his establishment when the suspect made it to his building, entered his place and subsequently launched a lethal firing against the victim.
Following the act of crime, the residents alerted the officers and informed them about the incident. The authorities immediately responded to the matter by reaching the crime spot. As soon as the officers reached the area, they found the body of Wilson bleeding from the several wounds created on his upper body due to the gunshot.
The injured victim of the fatal shooting attack was immediately transported to the nearby hospital for medical treatment where he was examined thoroughly by the doctors on duty and pronounced dead.
Several residents of the community took to their social media accounts and expressed their views and opinions on the incident. They requested the authorities to implement measures in order to reduce the increasing crime rate in the country.
One person commented “St Ann again! What is this, Lord? What’s really going on here these days, the death thing is getting so popular in the news these days. It’s draining.”
Another person commented the following “The news of the death has actually become so common in Jamaica now that I don’t get surprised seeing any murder. I have just one question where these culprits are, is authorities doing something or not.”
The authorities of the island nation have promised to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter in order to get the culprit punished for the offence he committed. He has also ensured that they are making stringent measures to bring peace and prosperity to the nation.
