Georgetown, Guyana: Two bandits attacked the 59-year-old man and brutally beat and chopped him to rob his motorcycle. The incident is reported to have taken place on Wednesday at LBI on Railway Line Embankment. The suspect is on the run and has not been caught yet by the officers.
The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Budhram Lakaram, a Guysuco worker of Kersaint Park, Le Bonne Intention, East Coast Demerara, Guyana.
As per the details shared by the officers, the victim was on his way to work when he was brutally beaten and chopped by the two bandits. After attacking him, the burglars robbed the victim’s CB1 Honda motorcycle with the registration number CL5260. The robbed motorcycle is reported to have been the victim’s recent purchase.
Following the robbery, the suspects made a good escape, and the victim took a taxi and went to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. According to the information, the doctors on duty examined the victim thoroughly and gave him proper medical attention and care in order to cure all the injuries he sustained.
Notably, a few months ago, Lakaram was robbed of a similar motorcycle while it was parked in his yard. The report was filed at Beterverwagting (BV) Police Station.
Moreover, the officers of Guyana are probing the matter in detail and has promised to arrest those burglars. Several residents of the community took to their social media accounts and expressed their views and opinions through their comments.
One person commented, “Can’t live in peace with these criminals, yet nothing is being done to protect citizens nor to deter these criminal attacks.”
Another user wrote, “What’s really happening with these wreckless bandits? How long more do citizens have to endure this? Where is the government and opposition?”
“Imagine they could do the same to get money, but nooo, they prefer to Rob hard-earning people. May all who choose to rob people these days never be blessed, tired of these bandits,” wrote another user named Cindy Richards.
