Grenada receives donation of Pfizer vaccine from Trinidad and Tobago
Grenada has received a donation of 2000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine from the health ministry of Trinidad and Tobago. The donation has been made on the request of Grenada’s health ministry.

Grenada has received a donation of 2000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine from the health ministry of Trinidad and Tobago. The donation has been made on the request of Grenada’s health ministry.
The COVID-19 vaccines were shipped yesterday. On making a donation, Trinidad and Tobago’s health ministry released a statement via press release which states, “The Ministry of Health wishes to advise that following a request from the Ministry of Health, Grenada sent via the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, that 2,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine have been shipped today Monday, November 1, 2021”.
Trinidad’s government is always ready and willing to play its role in the regional collaborative approach to the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, the media release further noted.
Earlier, the Caribbean island country has also received a donation of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines from Grenada.
“Individual, Community level and global partnerships are required to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, and so, whenever possible, the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago will continue to provide assistance to other territories,” the Ministry of Health further added.
Grenadian government has appreciated and thanked their sister island for the donation that will assist the island in speeding its COVID-19 vaccination drive.
According to the statistics, so far, a total of 67,959 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Grenada. A total of 30,284 individuals(which is around 26.9 per cent of the total population) are fully vaccinated with the required number of doses.
On the other hand, there are a total of 37,675 individuals have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Grenada, which is around 33.5 per cent of its population.
Grenada so far recorded 5,850 COVID-19 cases, while a total of 198 patients have lost their lives to the deadliest virus.
