Grenada: Hillsborough’s Princess Royal Hospital receives Health Emergency Operations Centre

Hillsborough, Carriacou: The Princess Royal Hospital will soon have a Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC), thanks to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), according to the update shared by Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government.
Outfitting equipment, including a projector, printer copier and laptop, has been delivered to the hospital.
As per the reports, the procurement for the outfitting of the Centre was done under the “Grenada European Union Project- Enhancing Health Resilience in Grenada to mitigate the impacts of the Covid-19 Pandemic and prepare for Future Health Emergencies”.
Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, Tevin Andrews, in handing over the equipment to Princess Royal Hospital staff, noted that any improvement in the delivery of healthcare services on the sister isles is appreciated, according to the latest update shared by the ministry.
It is anticipated that the equipment will strengthen the country’s capacity by improving operational readiness of the Health Emergency Centre, thus enhancing efficiency and effectiveness for managing future emergencies.
Matron Therese Hamlet expressed thanks to PAHO as the funding agency, saying the donation will further help in improving the level of healthcare services on the island.
Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government Javan Williams also attended the brief handing over ceremony.
It is worth mentioning that the ministry has been working days and nights to uplift and advance the infrastructure of the country. The continuous efforts of the ministries and the governments are leading the nation to the path of development, helping it to stand among the developed countries.
