French Civil Aviation bans Air Antilles flights for coming 1 month

The commercial and non-commercial flights of Air Antilles got suspended by the French Civil Aviation executives. The Air Antilles would not be able to operate its 7 ATRs and 4 Twin Otters from August 27. This would make the airlines to cancel their flights. This decision had also impacted several flights of Air Antilles.

The Air Antilles and the people of Antilles would get affected after the suspension of the flight. The citizens of the Antilles have been affected massively as it was the only airline that offers large connectivity in many areas.

The French Directorate-General for Civil Aviation on August 27, took this decision. He suspended the flights, including commercial and non-commercial of the airlines.

OSAC requested the decision, a private company commissioned by the French government to carry out organizational and professional verification regarding Airworthiness, mainly in the name of the DGAC. :

In the message, DGAC said, “During the monitoring of your organization since the starting of 2021, we have witnessed eight major non-conformities, including ATR and twin fleets, which show that your management system does not allow you to monitor compliance with the procedures required for the Airworthiness of these fleets of aircraft and the adequacy of procedures.”

In addition, French television reported that OSAC had limited the operational flights of Air Antilles’ single Cessna caravan for 1 month. For the removal of the suspension from the operations of the airline, OSAC highlighted that “adequate corrective action” would be required. In addition to this requirement, OSAC wants to put the airline under an intensified surveillance regime for a period of six months.
