Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced good news for the cricket fans as they will get free entry to watch the upcoming U19 Men’s World Cup.
The spectators can get their free tickets from https://www.icc-cricket.com/u19-world-cup/tickets/ websites. Tournament Director Fawwaz Baksh further cited, “While there will be free entry, fans must get their tickets prior to match day and adhere to the relevant protocols“.
Baksh noted that the organizers would make sure that the matches are arranged under the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines.
“If the Government and Ministry of Health officials say fans must be vaccinated, then so be it. If fans must have registered a negative test within a certain time period before the match, then so be it. We are working with all four host governments to ensure a safe environment,” the tournament director added.
The U19 mens’ tournament would commence from January 14, 2021, which would be hosted by the Caribbean countries – Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, St Kitts and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago.
The cricket fans who will not be able to see the live matches in the stadiums can enjoy the live telecast of the tournament on various social media platforms.
Around 16 teams would be participating in the tournament, and around 48 matches would be hosted.
This is the first time that the world cup is being hosted in the West Indies.
Earlier, while addressing the media, she cited, “What makes this tournament special is that it is the first time we are having a – tournament of this nature. It is under 19, but that is what makes it exciting as it is the future. Along with hosting the – tournament, we have to produce a team which will be a winning team”.
