Dominica: Government of Dominica gave approval on protocols for reopening the yachting sector due to enhanced interest and queries being seen.
Member of parliament Portsmouth Constituency, Ian Douglas, has said that the yachting sector’s reopening would build a chance to welcome more visitors to the destination. It will help to grow the tourism sector. The island will welcome more travellers and guests that can stimulate the economy of Country.
In December 2020, Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit declared the government’s plan to revive that tourism sector and told that the process of consultation and plan of action had commenced to facilitate that decision.
Member of parliament Portsmouth Constituency, Ian Douglas stated, “I am happy to announce that on Tuesday, January 13th, the cabinet approved the general protocols and guidelines to be performed for re-entry upon arrival,”
“Travelers are asked to wear masks at all times during the arrival process up to and including disembarkation and leaving the port of entry,” he added.
As per the Portsmouth MP, even with the risk of global voyage, yachties are still very much involved in feeling the relaxation in Dominica.
He said representatives in Portsmouth have been getting many requests from all sections in the yachting sector but indicated that travelers must follow all guidelines health providers and officials’ guidance, including physical distancing, good respiratory etiquette practice, and personal sanitization.
Member of parliament Portsmouth Constituency, Ian Douglas said yachts would be expected to remain, for the duration of their stay, unless cleared, in a quarantine zone to be set by the Dominica Air & Seaport Authority (DASPA) and the police.“While in the quarantine zone, vessels will be required to fly the color-coded quarantine flag to promote identification,” Douglas added.
Approval on protocols for reopening the yachting sector due to enhanced interest and queries being seen. This approval of yachting will definately change the statistics of capital in Country. It will increase the economy of the nation.
