Dominica: Scott’s Head Housing project soon to give keys to 16 deserving families

Roseau, Dominica: The much-awaited and a modern and sustainable residential project in Serene Seven, Scott’s Head Housing project is almost at the process of its completion noted the Minister of Housing, Melissa Poponne Skerrit.
While sharing the glimpses of the site on her official Facebook account, Minister Melissa Skerrit called it the “stunning project” of the island nation. She stated that this site boasts breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean which makes it one of the most beautiful housing projects on the island.
She also asserted that this is the first of ten planned sites which will soon welcome sixteen deserving families which will provide new homes just in time after Hurricane Beryl’s impact on the island’s southern tip.
“We are very excited to announce the near completion of our stunning housing project in Scott’s Head,” noted Minister Melissa Poponne Skerrit.
The development of this project has been fully funded by the Citizenship by Investment Programme, which aims to provide climate-resilient facilities to citizens in order to protect themselves from the devastating effects of climate change. This project is a part of the government’s commitment to making Dominica the first climate-resilient nation. And, while announcing the completion of this project, Minister Melissa Skerrit stated that they are taking little steps closer to fulfilling their aspiration of turning Dominica, a resilient nation, into reality.
This significant project spans across 12, 207 squares and involves three-bedroom bungalow units and single bedroom duplexes. The bungalow units feature a spacious living and kitchen area which includes, three comfortable bedrooms, two modern bathrooms and a dedicated laundry area along with the outdoor facility.
Moreover, the single bedroom units include a cozy living and kitchen area, a laundry area and a shared veranda. All the structures are being designed with reinforced concrete and masonry block work in order to avoid the destructing effects of change in weather conditions.
While designing this project, the government aims to ensure safety and durability for all residents. Also, till now, 95% of work has been done and the remaining 5% work is being done by the local contractors which is being supervised by MMC development. The final touches of the work include final interior finishes, fixtures and landscaping.
The much-awaited project, Scott’s Head housing development is expected to welcome its new residents in Quarter four of 2024. Minister Melissa Skerrit whose diligent efforts are getting lauded by the residents of the country stated that project is not just about building homes, but creating a community where safety, comfort and modern living come together.
