Dominica receives 22 Ping Pong tables from China
The people’s Republic of China gifted 22 Table Tennis (Ping Pong) tables to the Commonwealth of Dominica in order to support and boost up sports on the island.

Roseau: The people’s Republic of China gifted 22 Table Tennis (Ping Pong) tables to the Commonwealth of Dominica in order to support and boost up sports on the island.
The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, H.E Lin Xianjiang handed over the tables to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit.
Both of them also had a quick game of table tennis earlier at the Forecourt of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
Prime Minister wrote in the Tweet, “I got in a quick game of table tennis earlier at the Forecourt of the – Windsor Park Sports Stadium with Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, H.E Lin Xianjiang. China has donated 22 Table Tennis (Ping Pong) tables to Dominica to help grow the sport here”.
PM Skerrit appreciated this gift of the Chinese government and thanked the administration for their continuous support to the island in its development.
This would definitely give a boost to the sports sector, encouraging more of the children to opt for the sport and bring laurels to Dominica.
China’s helping hand in the development of Dominica:
Both the nations share a very robust and long-withstanding bilateral relationship.
Last week only, the Chinese government sent a donation of 100,000 facial masks to Dominica in order to aid the island in its COVID-19 response. This donation was handed over by the Chinese Ambassador H.E Lin Xianjiang to the Minister of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment, Dr Irving McIntyre, and to the Foreign Minister, Kenneth Darroux.
While in the month of November only, both the countries signed a visa-waiver agreement that will permit visa-free travel between the two states.
Besides this, China has donated 10,000 PCR Test kits, 20,000 doses of the Sinopharm COVID vaccines, ventilators, surgical masks, other protective gear and medical supplies to the island.
China also provides several scholarships for the students of Dominica, and has done several investments in the education sector of the island.
