Dominica: PM Roosevelt Skerrit invites youth to join Digital Literacy Skills Training

Roseau, Dominica: Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, informed about the upcoming Caribbean Digital Transformation Project on February 6, 2023 and invited the youth to actively participate in the Digital Literacy Skills Training. The Minister stated that the project would offer various employment opportunities to the youth of Dominica.
Prime Minister Skerrit said, “More opportunities are opening up under the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project to provide you with digital skills for employability.”
The Digital Literacy Skills Training has been organised by the Ministry of Public Works, Utilities and Digital Economy in collaboration with the Youth Development Division. The training will commence on February 7, 2023 (Tuesday). As per the update by the government, the training will be held on every Tuesday and Thursday between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm.
As per the government of Dominica, the aim of the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project will be:

Learn which Information Technology tools best suit work tasks
Learn the best approach to using Information Technology tools
Understand Information Technology security
LEARN PRESENTATION SOFTWARE
Enter text, background music and graphics into presentation slides
Prepare a slide show presentation
LEARN SPREADSHEET SOFTWARE
Enter, Edit and Organise numerical data
Learn how to use appropriate formulas and data analysis tools.
LEARN WORD PROCESSING
Enter, Format and Organise Text Data
Prepare Reports and Professional documents using Microsoft
The training will be provided at nine (9) locations across the island. These training locations will be:
- Trafalgar Resource Centre
- Mahaut Primary School
- Vielle Case Resource Centre
- Capuchin Resource Centre
- Grand Bay Youth Centre
- Bense Resource Centre
- Jones Beaupierre Primary School
- Delices Primary School
- St Cyr Resource Centre
According to the information shared, the registration for the programme/training session will be “free” of cost. The initiative has been carried out under the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project, implemented by the government and associated ministries of Dominica.
Along with the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Caribbean Digital Transformation Project – Dominica also shared information about the training programme. Via the social media post, it informed that the registration for the upcoming training could be done by using the registration link here: https://forms.gle/Fp7c7rWLX56W5X5x9.
“The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project, Ministry of Public Works, Public Utilities and the Digital Economy, in collaboration with the Youth Development Division, will be offering Intermediate Level Digital Literacy Training beginning February 7, 2023, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm,” the post further conveyed.
“Please contact 266-3840 or visit the office of the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project, Former First Domestic Building, before Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Registration can also be done online at www.cardtp.gov.dm,” additionally, it noted.
