It is the first-ever investment forum, taking place in Bridgetown, Barbados, under the theme “One People, One Destiny, Uniting and Reimagining Our Future”. ACTIF 2022 has taken place from September 1 to September 3.
Prime Minister Skerrit expressed pleasure through social media and outlined, “This morning, I attended the opening ceremony of the inaugural Afri-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2022), taking place from September 1 – 3, 2022 in Bridgetown, Barbados under the theme ‘One People. One Destiny. Uniting and Reimagining Our Future’.”
The forum aimed to strengthen relations among private sector entities in Africa and the Caribbean to advance trade and investment.
During the initial day of the forum, a Partnership Agreement was signed between Afreximbank and Caribbean Countries, including the Government of Barbados and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). Other countries included the Republic of Suriname, Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The agreement between the parties is aimed at promoting and financing South-South trade and investment between Africa and the Caribbean, as well as the promotion and provision of insurance and guarantee services covering commercial and non-commercial risks associated with African and Caribbean exports.
The African Import and Export Bank welcomed attendees, speakers, delegates and other dignitaries to our highly-anticipated inaugural AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF) 2022.
