Dominica: Construction of Mahaut Primary School to be completed by this year

Mahaut Constituency will soon benefit from 2 major developments of Structural works on the Massacre Multi-Purpose Indoor Sports Facility and Mahaut Primary School.

Roseau, Dominica: A lot of projects are going on in Dominica by the government, part of which the Mahaut Constituency will soon benefit from 2 major developments of Structural works on the Massacre Multi-Purpose Indoor Sports Facility and Mahaut Primary School.

Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit tweeted and updated on the construction work of both the projects. The Massacre Multi-Purpose Indoor Sports Facility is completed and will soon be inaugurated, while the construction work of the Mahaut Primary School is likely to be finished within the next few months.

The construction of the Soufriere Health and Wellness Center has also been completed, and the centre is all set to be inaugurated by this year.

The Dominican government is also constructing 16 individual homes at Savanne in Scottshead, for which contract will be handed over to the local sixteen contractors.

In the past few weeks, PM Skerrit has been taking around and examining the other project sites in Dominica. Last week, he visited 16 individual homes at Savanne in Scottshead.

The Mahaut Constituency will soon benefit from 2 major developments:

Meanwhile, a slipway/boat ramp is also planned to be constructed at Scottshead to allow fisherfolk to drive their vessels to and from shore for repairing and storage during severe weather.

Apart from this, a 50 m concrete wall of around 10 feet tall will also be reinstated along the Soufriere and Scottshead Seawall. This wall got damaged during the passage of Hurricane Maria 2017. This project consists of 60 meters of the backed concrete roadway and 60 meters of rock revetment to shield the wall along the shoreline.

A community centre is also among the list of ongoing projects by the Dominican government, which will be double as a hurricane shelter, is on the cards for Gallion. A total of 16 homes are being built in Pointe Michel for the residents whose houses were damaged by Hurricane Maria 2017.

Not only this but a lot of other projects, including an international airport, has been initiated by the Dominican government, which will enhance the standard of living of the citizens and as well as islands’ economy.
