Davie, Southwest Ranches teamed up to assist Haiti

Haiti: Davie and Southwest Ranches have teamed up to provide assistance for Haiti island, which is still recovering from the devastating 7.2 magnitudes of the earthquake that rocked the island country. Davie and Southwest Ranches carried a relief drive on Sunday to collect food and medical supplies so as to send it to the island nation.

Davie Police Officer – Exilus took the lead in organizing the partnership that included the Davie Police and Fire departments. Exilus cited that, “

Seeing the current situation of Haiti, I wanted to do something to basically know that I am actually providing supplies for the country, and there is no better way to do it than with my own police department, the Town of Davie.” 

Following the statement, he added that, “It was brought up to my supervisors, and they were super happy to support me and help me.” 

Despite this, Natalie and Ian Campbell, on part of the Gateway Baptist Church and PAC Haiti, are operating a Mystery Art Sale Fundraiser to support children in Haiti.

 Various other nations, international/national organizations are coming forward to assist the country that is still trying hard to recover from the destructive earthquake. 

The nation is already facing the COVID-19 outbreak, political chaos, gang violence and high crime rate, in between which this earthquake took place that killed more than 2,200 people, destroyed more than 53,000 buildings, including the churches, schools, houses and the other infrastructure. 

The island also witnessed the assassination of President Jovenel Moise, which took place on 7 July 2021, after which the situation got a bit tensed in the island, and the presidential elections were also postponed to the month of November this year. 

The earthquake impacted the children and people in a graver way. Many people lost their loved ones, livelihoods, houses, while various schools have also been destroyed.
