Culinary delights of Antigua and Barbuda promoted in UK

Antigua and Barbuda: The UK team of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority offered several vibrant culinary delights made with local flavours and ingredients to the people of London. They celebrated Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week by participating in a series of successful events in and around London.

The tourism authority’s UK team participated in separate events with a vision to reach diverse audience and increase awareness of Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week. They offered the people of London with local and rich dishes of the twin-island nation like Fungee, ducana, Pink Sandals Cocktails and many more.

The team planned a four-day event with a vision to attract a large number of British travellers for the Restaurant Week in May 2025. On the first day, the Director of Tourism, UK & Europe, Cherrie Osborne and her team held a variety of activities through trade and consumer initiatives in order to raise awareness about the rich flavours of Antigua and Barbuda.

Following that, the team participated in the National Geographic Food Festival and showcased the exceptional food offerings of the country. This food festival is one of the prominent celebrations of the world’s most exciting culinary destinations. The event featured world-class street food, engaging workshops, and high-profile stage appearances by culinary stars. The stars that graced the event with their presence included, Nadiya Hussain, Nisha Katona, alongside Antiguan chef, Kareem Roberts.

The Antiguan Chef, Kareem Roberts and Shermain Jeremy, the Special projects lead for ABTA held a masterclass where they both prepared Ducana and Saltfish for the people of London and immersed them in the flavours of the country. Shermain also shed light on the hotspot destinations of the country and emphasised the reasons why Antigua and Barbuda is the perfect place for travellers and food lovers.

On the third day, the UK team of Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority participated in the VIP trade event. It was held at the Burleigh Arms in Cambridge and honoured top agents who shared insights on the food and their destinations. The chef, Kareem Roberts, prepared Saltfish arancini and roast tomato and coconut bisque for all the food enthusiasts of the British and made the evening more engaging by hosting a quiz.

The final event in their culinary series was a media and content creator that was hosted by Kareem Roberts. The UK media and influencers participated in it and immersed themselves in the rich flavours of the country. The guests from esteemed TV shows such as Wanderlust, The Guardian and the Daily Mail participated in a live cooking session and prepared dishes inspired by the culture of Antigua and Barbuda.

With the successful execution of this four-day series, the authorities promoted the culinary offerings of Antigua and Barbuda.
