The rapper Daniel Hernandez, famous by Tekashi 6ix9ine, was granted a conditional release by the judges of the Dominican Republic on Thursday. He was arrested on January 17 on the charges of Domestic violence.
It is to be noted that the rapper was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend, a Dominican rapper known as ‘Yailin.’ He was ordered to pay a $510 deposit and asked to take the government counselling.
Noting this, Hernandez is supposed to meet the authorities every two months until they complete an investigation into the allegations. Moreover, the Judge, Fatima Veloz, also issued protection orders for both parties.
As per sources, Tekashi 6ix9ine’s attorney, Waldo Pimental, accused the prosecutors of presenting ‘forged’ evidence against his client. In response, the prosecutor, Ana Andrea Villa Camacho, gave clarification as to why she had requested to keep the rapper in custody.
“We know perfectly well why victims do not file a complaint, why victims recant”, she said.
The criminal history of Daniel Hernandez
However, this is not the first time that Hernandez has been arrested in the Dominican Republic. According to the Caribbean authorities, they had detained the rapper in October on the charges of assault.
If sources are to be believed, it is said that he was accused of committing a violent crime against a local music producer after he and his partner had been recording at his studio.
Moreover, he was previously taken into custody in the US for using a violent gang as a ‘Personal hit squad.’ In that case, he avoided a prison sentence by providing evidence against the US East Coast-based Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
A judge at the time found him a potential danger to the community and held him in jail without bail during the case on criminal activities and firearms charges.
Additionally, Tekashi had a multiplatinum hit song, ‘Fefe’, and collaborated with Nicki Minaj in 2018. The song hit number three on the pop charts.
The news of Tekashi’s arrest has gone viral on the internet. People around the globe took to their Facebook handles to express their opinions regarding the matter.
While reacting to the news, a person named John Putnam commented, “Another celeb who thinks they are above the law here and other countries.”
Another person by the name of Amy Martin wrote, “What’s wrong with this dude? He must love something in jail. Maybe all the DS or BF.”
