CARICOM ready to establish diplomatic mission in Kenya in Africa

In the coming weeks, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) would be formally opening the diplomatic mission in Kenya in Africa. As the 15-member regional grouping wanted to deepen its relations within Africa.

PM Gaston Browne, present chairman of CARICOM, said that there are many work and development that CARICOM nations could do while on the bilateral level. This might be very beneficial to unleash the economic and cultural area with African countries.

Chairman PM Gaston Browne said that CARICOM would be formally opening a diplomatic mission in Nairobi, Kenya, within weeks. PM Gaston Browne, chairman CARICOM, spoke on several occasions to his friend, President Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, and they had both delighted by that development.

PM Gaston Browne said that the mission would serve as Caricom’s platform in Africa with a mandate for developing beneficial relations with all countries on the African continent, the importance of Nelson Mandela Day, which has been observed on Sunday. PM Gaston Browne said that it had not been just a day of flurry speeches as important as speeches are in honouring the great man.

Nelson Mandela was supportive of the significant initiatives being launched to match with the occasion, mainly because they were so relevant comprehensive to the modern world.

PM Gaston Browne said that the global campaign on vaccine confidence, the Caribbean wide gender-based violence campaign, the centres for victims of gender-based violence and food hampers for the food insecure in their communities. All those programmes would have a natural positive impact with ordinary people facing the challenges of everyday life during the most disturbing times. Nelson Mandela engaged in transformative politics to lead a real revolution. 

Prime Minister of Antigua & Barbuda Gaston Browne declared as the new Chairman of the CARICOM for the next 6 months. PM Gaston Browne had taken over the authority from July 5, 2021 Monday.

New Chairman of CARICOM PM Gaston Browne had succeeded the outgoing Chairman Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr Keith Rowley.
