Caribbean nations truly stand on offering clean water as several of them have dominated the list of 180 countries with clean water which was published by RS Bond. As per the details, 9 Caribbean nations has made it to the list of top 20 nations with the cleanest water.
Water, which is the basic necessity of life and is essential for health, communities and economy is necessary to be kept clean and potable. Therefore, the Caribbean nations have always been at the forefront of making several water management plans with a vision to enhance stability and resilience.
The team collected the environmental performance data and focused on various categories including water treatment and wastewater. Seychelles, a country in East Africa, claimed the first position with 47.3 points and was ranked as the best country for clean water.
From second to sixth position, the Caribbean nations dominate the entire list, Antigua and Barbuda secured the second position for being the best nation for offering clean water with 46.4 points. St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and Saint Lucia turned out to be the third, fourth and fifth position holder with 45.7, 44.6 and 44.3 points respectively.
Dominica turned out to be the sixth-best nation on the list of the countries with cleanest water, securing 43.4 points. Meanwhile, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize and Trinidad and Tobago claimed 10th, 15th, 18thand 20th position with 39.3, 31.2, 30.9 and 30.8 points respectively.
The Roads and Sewer Specialist for RS Bonds, Dane Westwood, stated that the ranking of these countries sheds light on the better conditions that the nations have maintained by preserving natural resources and keeping the entire environment clean and green. Also, United Kingdom has failed to crack the list of the top 50 countries for clean water because of a crisis in terms of the quality of water.
On the other hand, Caribbean nation has always been dedicated to improving climate resilience and healthy oceans through investments in water supply security, wastewater treatment and coastal protection across the region.
