St Kitts and Nevis superstar Byron Messia claimed two prestigious awards at the 2024 Caribbean Music Awards, elevating St Kitts and Nevis to greater heights in the musical world.
The awards won by the global star Byron Messia include Song of the Year for his superhit track “Taliban” and Collaboration of the Year with Burna Boy for the same song “Taliban.”
Dylan Byron who is famously known as Byron Messia is not only a singer but a songwriter as well. He has gained mainstream recognition following the commercial release of his single “Talibans” in 2023.
The dancehall artist took the world by storm with his song “Talibans.” The song spawned a remix featuring Burna Boy, which peaked at number 99 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and received gold certification by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Notably, Byron Messia was born in Jamaica, but his family relocated to St Kitts and Nevis when he was just two months old. He developed an interest in music and it became his passion during his teenage years and began recording songs at the age of 15.
Since then, Messia has been working hard and has become a huge name in the world of music and which is why, today he is known as one of the leading figures in Caribbean music.
While shedding light on his journey from a small island nation to reaching an international platform. He stated that it is very difficult for the person coming from the small island, St Kitts and Nevis as they have to work harder than the average artist at every step to get international recognition.
He added that he is extremely blessed to be recognized internationally and for the same, he stated that he has worked very hard on his every song just to make his nation proud of the accomplishments he has achieved.
Moreover, the singer also recognized and extended gratitude to his producer Shetty Stainless who gave him the first beat to do his first Dancehall track “‘Dropped A Letter’ from 2017.”
He also mentioned about the artists like Infamous, Nicha B, Highlight, I-Mark, he stated that such artists have inspired him a lot as a youth and he has learnt a lot from them.
Caribbean Music Award is a huge platform that recognizes, honour and celebrates the Caribbean talent who have made significant contributions to the enhancement of the music and development of the rich and diverse culture of the region.

Also, the Kittitian Pumpa won a huge recognition at the Caribbean Music Awards 2024. He clinched the Caribbean Impact Award. This award acknowledges the significant contribution of the artist to the music industry and his impact on the music world.
