British Royal Family members to visit St Lucia in April 2022

St Lucia: The Queen of the British Royal Family will be celebrating the Platinum Jubilee, and to mark the completion of 70 years, the members of the British Royal Family will visit the Caribbean countries, according to several media reports.

Expectedly, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would visit Jamaica, Barbados, and Belize. The Earl and Countess of Wessex – Queen’s youngest son Earl and his wife Sophie, will visit St Lucia in April; as per the reports, they are expected to travel to other Caribbean islands, including Antigua and Barbuda St Vincent and Grenadines, and Grenada.

This announcement was made by Buckingham Palace ‘on behalf of her Majesty The Queen on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee’. The Queen, who is 95-year-old now, has stopped international trips and her last overseas trip was to Malta in 2015.

The announcement was released by the Palace after The Queen tested positive for the deadly virus – SARS-CoV-2. Currently, she is in isolation and doctors, and medical staff members have been continuously monitoring her health. She was tested positive to COVID-19 after Prince Charles and his wife Camilla – and some Palace household staff – tested positive.

Since then, the Queen has cancelled all public engagements, including virtual meetings. However, the Palace has been planning for a big royal bash to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee and has invited many guests. The main attraction of this event could be the ‘Spice Girls,’ which are expected to reunite especially.
