Barbados logs 192 new COVID-19 cases
Barbados reported 192 new cases of the COVID-19 mutant, comprising 85 males and 107 females on March 30. No death was reported in the country on Wednesday.

Barbados: Barbados reported 192 new cases of the COVID-19 mutant, comprising 85 males and 107 females. So far, the island has reported a total of 59,272 confirmed cases of the deadliest mutant, according to the health ministry’s report till March 30, 2021.
As per the report, 56 individuals are isolated, while 1,249 individuals are in home isolation. No death was reported in the country on Wednesday. With this, the toll of people who succumbed to the contagious COVID-19 outbreak is 374.
Since the pandemic started in the island country, that is – in March 2020, Barbados has reported 59,272 cases (27,468 males and 31,804 females). The public health laboratory has performed 612,282 tests.
Barbados COVID-19 situation reports further stated that a total of 161,114 individuals have received their first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine. In comparison, a total of 151,139 individuals that is 55.8 percent of the population, has received their second shot of the vaccine and are now fully vaccinated against the deadly virus.
Out of the 192 new cases registered, 37 are under 18 years, and the other 155 individuals are 18 years older or above.

Prime Minister – Mia Amor Mottley, along with the health ministry, urges the citizens to abide by the COVID-19 protocols/measures such as – wearing masks, sanitizing frequently, and maintaining a social distance. She also urged the Barbadians to take their jabs at the vaccine as soon as possible to decrease the chances of transmission and assist the nation in achieving its herd immunity target.
