Barbados inaugurates ribbon-cutting Youth Excellence Forum 2023

Bridgetown, Barbados: Barbados inaugurated the Youth Excellence Forum, 2023, at 3Ws Oval, UWI Cave Hill Campus, on October 16 from 5-8 PM which was held under the presence of Barbados’s Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment- Charles MCD Griffith, who delivered the feature address.

Minister Griffith addressed ONE-ON-ONE with top UWI Cave Hill administrators and accomplished Student Leaders from all the Faculties, past and present, such as:

3. Gabrielle Gay- Founder Erline Bradshaw Foundation

Students were appealed to unlock their potential at the first-ever UWI 60th Celebration of Youth Excellence Forum 2023.

The event offered a “FREE” admission to each and every student.

Students asked burning questions directly to the leaders, which would support them to shape the future of the UWI Cavehill with their vision.

The event proposed the exclusive Cocktail Mixer and provided on-site mentorship and incredible networking opportunities with the support of UWI Administration and Youth Service Leaders.

The happening event helped empower and inspire youth hailing from different parts the country encouraging them to build a potential mind which would take them to touch the new heights in their lives.

Glimpses of Youth Excellence Forum:

Youth Forum Empowered students to raise their voices against racism in schools. Winnipeg youth and Educators gathered on Saturday to share their experiences of racism in school and discussed the ways to get rid of it and to keep the students comfortable and safe in the classroom.

The “Youth Forum on Anti-Racism in Education” was held at Red River College’s Auditorium, which showcased group interactions and panel discussions.

Racialized leaders and young newcomers shared their personal experiences of racial injustice and inequality faced by them.

Yoanna Shalome – One of the speakers of the forum added that the purpose of the forum was not just to appeal to the audience but to be of benefit to the individuals taking part in it.

Counting on the opportunities she got to speak publicly, she realized her opinion and experience mattered.
