Bahamas releases new COVID-19 testing protocols for travelers to Bahamas

The new changes have been made in the COVID-19 health protocols by the government of the Bahamas. These protocols are for both the domestic travellers as well as the international travellers. The new protocols would come in effect from 6 August 2021. The information related to the latest protocols has been released via the press release on the social media from the official accounts of the Government of Bahamas.

The international travellers, along with the vaccination certificate, should have the negative test report of Rapid Antigen Test or PCR COVID-19 test that has been obtained within the 5 days before taking the flight and arriving at the Bahamas. All other unvaccinated travellers from 12 years old to above are required to obtain the negative test report, whether of Rapid Antigen Test or PCR COVID-19 test that should be taken within the 5 days before starting their travel to the Bahamas.

According to the new travelling protocols, the cruise passengers should follow the COVID-19 measure while travelling to the Bahamas, and they should also meet the testing requirements of the Bahamas health ministry. These COVID-19 protocols have been compulsory by the cruise line and approved by the Competent authority.

The domestic travellers of Bahamas who have been travelling within the Bahamas from Grand Bahamas, New Providence, Bimini, Exuma, Harbour Island, North & South Eleuthera and Abaco have also been required to show their negative produced reports through the rapid antigen test or RT-PCR COVID-19 test before 5 days prior starting their journey.

The government also highlighted that the children from 2- 11years should also have their negative reports by the Rapid Antigen Test or RT-PCR test produced within the 5 days before starting the journey within the island of Bahamas.

The Health Ministry further informed that a domestic travel health visa would be provided to all the citizens of the Bahamas who would be travelling within the island country Bahamas.
