Bahamas receives shipment of 33,600 doses of Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine
The Prime Minister of Bahamas also informed that they would be returning 5,000 doses to Antigua and Barbuda out of the total doses received in recent Shipment

                                                    The 3rd Shipment of 33,600 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines arrived in the Bahamas. The Shipment was received by Prime minister Dr Minis who was accompanied by the Minister of Health Wells and officials from PAHO and the Bahamas Ministry of Health. This Shipment is noted to be received via the COVAX facility. The Shipment arrived at COVID-19 vaccines arrived at Jet Nassau, FBO.
The Prime Minister of Bahamas also informed that they would be returning 5,000 doses to Antigua and Barbuda out of the total doses received in recent Shipment as the Bahamas had exchanged vaccines with Antigua and Barbuda in the past time when they were in need.
Prime Minister Dr Minis said that it has been because of that exchange of the COVID-19 vaccine doses, at that time, the Bahamas has been able to continue their vaccination drive smoothly, and he thanks his Caribbean neighbours, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat and Anguilla, as well the U.K. Government for their collaboration and assistance.
PM Dr Minis thanked PAHO and said that he once again thank the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) for their generous assistance.
The citizens could visit the website vax.gov.bs to make their appointment to receiving their shot of the coronavirus vaccine. The usage of second doses would continue at Loyola Hall on two days, Thursday and Friday of this week.
From Monday, on 9 August, more vaccination centres would be opened in New Providence.
On Monday, the Church of God of Prophecy on East Street would be opened, followed by Baha Mar on Tuesday and St Anselm’s Church Hall on Wednesday. The vaccination drive would be followed by the Baha Mar Convention Center on Tuesday 10 August, followed by the St. Anslem’s Church Hall on Wednesday, 11 August.
In addition, the walk-up appointments would be available at – the Church of God of Prophecy and St. Anselm’s Church vaccination centres.
