Antigua Carnival 2024 concludes with “Parade of Bands”, streets came alive with joy

Antigua and Barbuda: The Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival and the highly anticipated Antigua Carnival concludes successfully with the Parade of the Bands on Tuesday. The parade brought large number of visitors on the streets of the country adorned in elaborated costumes and were accompanied by pulsating rhythms.

The Tourism Authority of Antigua and Barbuda took it all to the street for the final day of the Carnival and met at the assembly point at Corner of Factory Road and Parliament Drive.

The Parade began with a right turn to Queen Elizabeth Highway, followed by a left turn towards Independence drive and then a right on All Saints Road, following another Right on Market St. After that, the parade went on to Newgate St, Popeshead, St John’s, Right on Cross and then later they turned left on Bishopgate. Finally, the parade reached its final destinations by turning left on Old Parham Road and then moving Right on Coronation Road into ARG.

While shedding light on the successful completion of the Antigua Carnival 2024, the tourism authority stated that the arrival of a huge number of tourists to the country made the streets alive with parades, music bands, and troupes with a multitude of masqueraders in colourful costumes.

They also asserted about the incredible economic impact that Antigua Carnival made and stated that the Antigua Carnival 2024 hosted several of activities and events and managed to attract large number of citizens and travellers worldwide to the country. The arrival of the large number of tourists later resulted successfully in benefitting not only the tourism sector but the other sectors as well such as accommodation, transportation, contributing to the overall development of the economic department.

The tourism authority also emphasized the visitors who arrived in the country for Antigua Carnival 2024 and stated that all of them were provided with warmth hospitality, and a spectacle of color, fun, and excitement with a vision to make their visit to the country memorable and comfortable.

They noted that they celebrated several festivities including Party Monarch, Calypso Monarch competitions of Calypsonians, the Panorama steel band competition, and the spectacular Parade of Bands to the Queen of Carnival Pageant, Mr and Mrs Teenage Pageant and the Jaycees Queen’s Competition. And, all these events offered all their attendees with an experience like no other.
