Antigua and Barbuda’s team set to shine at First Global Robotics Challenge 2023

St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda: The Antigua and Barbuda Robotics team, profoundly known as DadliBots, announced the list of the students who will proudly represent the nation at the First Global Robotics Challenge (FGC).

The team profiles of these students have been shared by the Robotics team of Antigua and Barbuda through official social media accounts. According to the update, the team will compromise a leader, engineer, programmer, inventor and driver.

The profiles of the members are as follows:

• Madison Smith – Leader
Smith is a 14 years old student at the Island Academy School. She has highlighted that her favourite subject is Mathematics, and she aspires to become a veterinarian surgeon and construction engineer.

• Alric Shaw – Engineer
Shaw is a 15 years old student at Antigua Grammar School. He aims to become a civil engineer and imagines that the world of robots become realistic.

• Maliya Barrow – Programmer
Barrow is 14 years old student at Baptist Academy School. She believes that STEM is the wave of the future, and she intends to be onboard for the ride.

• Nathan Clarke – Inventory
Clarke is 16 years old and studies at the Antigua Grammar School. He mentioned that he enjoys playing strategic building games. While sharing his preferences, he outlined that he was to contribute towards a developed country, which will assist the less developed countries to tackle global problems like climate crisis.

• Jayden Galloway – Driver
Galloway is 14 years old and also studies at the Antigua Grammar School. He claimed to love coding and web designing. Jayden Galloway seeks to become a software engineer in the future.

DadliBots’ lead mentor – Elijah James, lauded the authorities for organising STEM programs like First Global. As per him, such platforms provide priceless opportunities for the students to embrace their roles as future caretakers.

Further, James encouraged all the interested businesses, organisations and individuals to encourage and support STEM learning and contribute towards the potential of youth across Antigua and Barbuda. He additionally mentioned that an individual or organisation can support DadliBots in the process of raising US$50,000 by contributing every possible amount.

First Global Robotics Challenge:

According to the official updates, the event will be held from October 7 to 10, 2023 in Singapore. It has been anticipated that more than 190 countries will come to Singapore to participate in the Olympic-styled robotics competition.

The authorities have outlined that this event will provide a great platform for students from different backgrounds, religions, customs, and languages. The major extraction of the Robotics event is anticipated to increase the importance, excitement and applicability of STEM Education.
