$100k worth of Marijuana, firearm and ammunition seized in Trinidad and Tobago

The officials of the Western Division Task Force of Trinidad and Tobago seized over $100K worth of Marijuana, Firearm and ammunition on 1st December 2023.

The officials of the Western Division Task Force of Trinidad and Tobago seized over $100K worth of Marijuana, Firearm and ammunition on 1st December 2023.

The authorities conducted an Operation Blue Line Exercise on Friday, 1st December 2023, between 10 am and 3 pm.

According to the information, the intelligence team moved towards a track between Sargangar Trace and Davidson Drive, La Puerta Diego Martin. They conducted a search of an abandoned structure.

On searching the structure, the authorities found:

–         A quantity of marijuana

–         One extended magazine

–         11 rounds of 5.56 ammunition

–         11 rounds of 9 mm ammunition

Subsequently, the marijuana discovered by the officials was weighed. On weighing the marijuana, it was found to be equal to 5244 grams.

This exercise was sanctioned by ACP Maharaj. It was coordinated by the Senior Superintendent. Henry and ASP Lynch. The case was supervised by Cpls Dominique and Edwards.

PC Figueria is continuing the investigation and looking into the matter.

Moreover, one more case was reported on 3rd December when the officers of Central Division Police conducted an Operation Blue Line Exercise and apprehended one man at his home and seized 1096 grams of marijuana.

During the exercise, the officers of the Central Division Task Force, Area North, Operation Support Staff Personnel and members of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment conducted an exercise between 2 am and 6 am on 3rd December 2023.

While conducting the exercise, the police authorities executed a search warrant at the premises of a 22-year-old, Rainbow Crescent, Enterprise.

On searching, the officers found:

–         Two rectangular brown packets containing marijuana.

The man was apprehended for his connection with the find and the case was conveyed to the Chaguanas Police Station.

The officers also seized marijuana and weighed it. On weighing, it was found that the marijuana was equal to 1096 kg.

This exercise was coordinated by the Senior Superintendent. Simon, Superintendent. Montrichard, Superintendent Gyan. The matter was spearheaded by ASP. Dipchand, Inspector. Sylvan, Inspector. Stewart.

The Police officers are investigating the matter and the exercise is ongoing. Along with this, the concerned officials has ensured complete transparency and made sure to the residents that, “We will do our best to combat the growing crime.”
