Mexican govt promises to grant scholarships to Antigua and Barbuda students

Antigua and Barbuda: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed the general public that the 2022 Call for Mexican Government Scholarships of Excellence for International Students has been published. The scholarship publication has been open until July 24, 2022 (Sunday).

The scholarships have been provided through the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID). The Government of Mexico will provide scholarship to more than 300 scholarships and will be distributed among every participating country, including the Eastern Caribbean States and Antigua and Barbuda.

The ministry has further clarified that the applications must be electronically made, and to do the same, an individual may go to https://sigca.sre.gob.mx/login. The applications will not be made later than July 24, 2022.

The ministry has been providing scholarships only in the areas of knowledge indicated in the Call, which includes PhD, Masters and Specializations degrees, as well as Bachelor’s and Engineering mobility programs, in diverse areas such as Sciences, Education, Sports, Law, Architecture, Food, Computing, Software, Electronics, Politics, Economy, Tourism, Nanotechnology, Business, Development, Health Medicine, Nutrition, Nursing, among many others, along with the Mexican territory.

As per the details by the ministry, the results will be announced on August 15, 2022 (Monday).

The ministry further shared a note which informed that online applications that do not meet the requirements established on the Call would not be considered in the selection process.

Earlier, the administration of the Republic of Brazil said that it would offer scholarships to students from Antigua and Barbuda who wishes to pursue their undergraduate degrees in Brazil for the year 2023.

The scholarship program “PEC-G” gives a chance the applicants to chase their studies in a wide range of courses offered by designated tertiary educational institutes throughout Brazil. All courses offered are free of cost, but students would have to manage their own living expenses during their stay in Brazil.

The applications for the scholarship program are open; however, its last date is August 5, 2022.
