Furthermore, she expressed gratitude towards the progressive forces of the European Parliament for their support and actions.
Along with the MEP, the attendees were Evelyn Regner, Vice President of the EC, Karima Delli, President of TRAN, Manon Aubry, LEFT co-chairman and Leila Chaibi, head of the delegation France.
A day earlier, MEP Kountoura shared an update on the adoption of the crucial amendments drafted by MEP, adopted in the TRAN Transport and Tourism Committee’s opinion on the EU budget for 2023.
The amendments concern the need for adequate support for Tourism and Transport, especially for workers and small and medium-sized enterprises in these sectors.
The amendments of the MEP, coordinator of the LEFT in the TRAN Committee, were approved in the TRAN opinion voted in a special meeting in Strasbourg and concern, among other things, the need to adequately support the transport and tourism sectors in the national recovery and resilience plans of the member states with the corresponding support from the European financial programs. To support workers in these sectors, special weight must be given to the social dimension.
