Trinidad and Tobago: The KLM Royal Dutch Airline is all set to offer six times weekly non-stop flights to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago for the Winter 2024/2025 season. The airlines will double its services from three times weekly, effective from 27th October 2024, operating from Amsterdam to Port of Spain via Sint Maarten.
The airline continued to offer its services to the triangle route every day except Saturdays until 28 March 2024. Most travellers have appreciated and lauded the airline’s services, which have provided them with seamless and enhanced travel options.
After almost a period of 30 years, the airline was reintroduced in October 2021. Since then, it has performed exceptionally well and has captivated the attention of several visitors from the Benelux region and Asia. The airline has also provided a platform for passengers to connect to several parts of the Caribbean and South America.
Moreover, the Tourism Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Randall Mitchell also shed light on its load factor. He mentioned that the average load factor recorded in 2022 was 75% which further increased by 5% in 2023 and reaches to 80% in 2023. Now, the load factor made a significant increase of 92% from the months of January to March 2024.
He further added that such an increase in load factor resulted in the allocation of more seats to the Port of Spain, ensuring comfortable and expanded travel options for visitors. It is also a huge opportunity for the country to attract a large number of visitors as the nation is continuously making efforts to fully rebound to its pre-pandemic levels.
The KLM airlines also expanded its services to five flights a week during the period of Carnival but soon after the festival, they resumed their services to three days a week.
Also, this expansion in the flight services to Port of Spain will play a significant role in bringing large number of visitors to the island nation. Along with that, it is a great way of promoting cultural exchange and fostering economic growth.
