Jammu and Kashmir, India: The Kashmir Valley, on Wednesday, including this summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, came to life as students returned to class following a lengthy winter break.

Parents complained about their children starting school “too early” when speaking to Good Morning Kashmir. Many stated it was glad to see their kids back on track. The needs of the pupils should come first. Timings used to be modified starting on April 1.

Due to a change in school hours in Srinagar city from 9 in the morning to 2 in the afternoon, uniformed children could be seen leaving for their different campuses quite early in the morning. Those in charge of the situation shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that the mornings are still quite chilly.

Winter break was mandated for grades up to fifth from December 1 to February 28, grades six through eight from December 12, and grades nine through twelve from December 19.

The teaching staff of high, along with higher secondary schools, have already reported to their respective schools as of February 20, 2023, in accordance with the government regulation, and classes will resume on March 1, 2023. This is so that plans can be made for the upcoming exams.

According to previous reports, the School Education Department (SED) has scheduled the annual 2022 (Term II) examination for junior classes, while the 2023 (Term II) examination for pupils in classes 8 through 12 began on February 27 and will end on March 10 of that year.

To facilitate the prompt start of the class work for the school’s new academic session, the SED has already given all Chief Education Officers (CEOs) instructions to make sure that the Term II examination is completed for all junior classes by March 20.

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has set the hours of operation for schools located within the boundaries of Srinagar Municipality to 9 am to 2 pm as of March 1, 2023, in anticipation of the reopening of the schools. To prevent traffic jams in the city centre, Srinagar schools have been informed of the new timing.
