Jamaica: Prime Minister Andrew Holness has extended warm wishes on the occasion of National Teacher’s Day.

Jamaica: Prime Minister Andrew Holness has extended warm wishes on the occasion of National Teacher’s Day.

Prime Minister Holness took social media and wished, “I join with Jamaicans islandwide in celebrating teachers and their invaluable service towards the growth and development of our country.”

He further said that the day is celebrated to express gratitude for their commitment to providing quality education to the students. “As you celebrate your day, the Government and people of Jamaica express our sincere gratitude for your commitment to providing quality education to our students,” he said.

He also lauded the teachers of Jamaica for being committed to their profession.

Prime Minister stated, “Your profession is much more than facilitating learning. You are role models, counsellors, nutritionists, and critical partners in the quest to transform our education system. Today, we salute all Teachers; Happy Teachers’ Day!”

The JMMB Group, one of the leading financial groups in the Caribbean, also extended a wish and wrote, “Happy Teacher’s Day to the heroes of the classroom! From fostering creativity to developing character and providing students with the skills needed to reach their potential, we celebrate you; we honour you, we salute you!”

While Violence Prevention Alliance of Jamaica stated, “Happy Teacher’s Day! Our teachers are contributors to our children’s development. They guide, help and provide support in all possible ways to ensure every child gets the best education they deserve.”

“On this day, we would like to appreciate all of our educators for the work they have done. Happy Teacher’s Day!” stated the Jamaica’s University of Technology.

National People’s Co-Operative Bank Of Jamaica wished and said, “Happy Teacher’s Day to all teachers across Jamaica.”

Jamaica celebrates teacher’s day on the first Wednesday of May. This year, the day was celebrated on May 4, 2022. This event in the first decade of the month of May is annual.
